ZAPWATER COMMUNICATIONS NAMED AGENCY OF RECORD (U.S.) FOR VISIT BAJA SUR
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 31, 2026) - Zapwater Communications has been awarded a one-year contract with Visit Baja Sur (Fideicomiso de Turismo de Baja California Sur), the official tourism board for the Mexican state, following a competitive tender process. The agency will lead a comprehensive United States marketing strategy to further position the destination among high-value travelers.
The integrated campaign is designed to elevate Baja Sur’s visibility by increasing top-of-mind awareness and reinforcing its reputation as one of Mexico’s most exclusive destinations. Zapwater’s efforts will highlight the region’s diverse natural beauty, from the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez to the dramatic Baja California Sur desert, while placing a strategic emphasis on promoting the distinctive destinations of Loreto and Todos Santos.
Recently, Loreto was announced as a destination featured in the upcoming 2026 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Zapwater will be tasked with continuing to attract new and existing U.S. travelers to visit destinations multiple times per year. The agency will highlight the depth and breadth of experiences, including world-class gastronomy and premium experiences including sport fishing, championship golf, and adventure travel.
Visit Baja Sur recently reaffirmed that, despite reports of gang-related violence in other parts of Mexico, the region remains safe and fully accessible to visitors and was not included in recent U.S. Embassy shelter-in-place alerts.
