WHAT: Gobbler Gallup at the Arboretum of South BarringtonDATE/TIME: Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. LOCATION: The Arboretum of South Barrington (100 West Higgins Road, South Barrington, IL 60010) PRICE: $10 for non-South Barrington residents, $8 for South Barrington residents DETAILS: ‘The annual Gobbler Gallop is taking place at the Arboretum of South Barrington this November 21st. Participants can run a 5k or join the two-mile fun walk, and there is also a 100-yard dash for school age children. The proceeds will benefit the Heart of the Marine Foundation.
As an added bonus, the Arboretum will also be hosting a sock drive during this time. For every pair of tube socks donated, participants will be entered into a raffle to win prizes such as a turkey, Arboretum gift cards, etc.
WHAT: Golden Apple Fundraiser at Vertigo Sky Lounge DATE/TIME: Friday, November 12, 2010 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. LOCATION: Vertigo Sky Lounge at dana hotel & spa (2 West Erie Street, Chicago, IL 60654, (312) 202-6060) PRICE: $40 in advance, $50 at the door DETAILS: Chicago’s premier nightlife destination, Vertigo Sky Lounge, invites Chicagoans to a fundraiser presented by the Golden Apple Associates Board, on Friday, November 12 from 7 to 10 p.m. One hundred percent of the proceeds from this event will support the Golden Apple Foundation, which is currently celebrating 25 years of commitment to recognizing outstanding teachers and recruiting, preparing, and developing the next generations of excellent teachers in Chicago and Illinois. That evening, guests will enjoy first class DJ entertainment, two hours of premium open bar, appetizers courtesy of Aja, and the chance to score a variety of fabulous raffle prizes.

WHAT: Resident DJ Contest at Crimson Lounge DATE/TIME: Thursday, November 4, 2010: DJ Matt Roan Thursday, November 11, 2010: DJ Jessica Who Thursday, November 18, 2010: DJ Edski LOCATION: Crimson Lounge (333 North Dearborn Street, Chicago, IL 60610) DETAILS: Crimson Lounge invites Chicagoans to take part in a contest designed to select its next resident DJ, a talented mix master who will fill a position formerly occupied by world-renowned DJs Samantha Ronson and Frankie Knuckles. Keeping with its reputation as the destination for music, Crimson Lounge combed the country to bring an eclectic mix of top talent back to the Windy City. Throughout November, the Sax Chicago nightspot will host Hollywood powerhouse DJ Edski, South Beach darling DJ Jessica Who, and Chicago’s own DJ Matt Roan as they compete to claim the title of its new resident DJ. Guests will be encouraged to vote online for their favorite of the three DJs and stay tuned for the anticipated announcement of Crimson’s next resident DJ.
