ZAP BITES: Perfect Recipes for Slow Cooker Season

When the temperatures drop in Chicago come late-November/early-December, my appetite gravitates towards anything warm and hearty. However, most of the time those dishes are also the ones that happen to have a) a lot of ingredients and b) a lot of prep work, the last thing I want when I get home at the end of a busy day.

When Gina Homolka of Skinny Taste released her second book, Fast & Slow with everything either ready in 30 minutes or less, or cooks all day via a slow cooker, last fall, I jumped at the purchase. Over a year later, it is still the most used cookbook in our house and the slow cooker recipes have become a staple when it gets cold outside.

So today, I thought I’d share some three of my favorite slow cooker recipes – the perfect kind of set it and forget it – which can also be found on the Skinny Taste website!
