Professional soccer player Natalie Spilger founded GreenLaces in 2008 under the premise that athletes can make eco-promises and seal them by sporting green shoelaces. GreenLaces’ Green it Forward campaign allows GreenLaces to generate funds and awareness for established environmental groups that are working with integrity to create a healthy planet. Simultaneously, the 100% recycled plastic shoelaces visually unite environmental stewards across organizations’ communities to foster a united presence.

The bright green laces are made from recycled plastic and help athletes to publicly promote the green movement. The organization has attracted numerous athletes to bring GreenLaces to athletic fields all over the world.

Zapwater will oversee media relations, social media, and partnership sourcing and development for GreenLaces. The agency will also continue to position the organization and its founder, Natalie Spilger, as “green” leaders.
