ZAP BITES: Tasty Tiramisu Recipe

Looking for a new dessert recipe that’s perfect for summer? What about one that looks like you’re a skilled pastry chef? This recipe is one I learned while taking a cooking class in Siena, Italy last fall. It’s so easy that I didn’t even need a recipe to recreate it this past weekend!

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 4 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 8 oz. containers of Mascarpone cheese
  • Biscotti
  • Sweet Port
  • Cocoa Powder

Instructions:

  1. Separate 4 eggs placing the egg whites in one medium size bowl and the egg yolks in another medium size bowl
  2. Add 2 tbsp of sugar to each bowl and combine
  3. Mix egg white blend with mixer until thick with peaks forming
  4. Add mascarpone to egg yolk blend and combine
  5. Add egg white mixture to the egg yolk mixture folding in until completely combined
  6. Meanwhile, lightly dipp biscotti into port to coat, using 4 tbsps of port
  7. Divide cookies evenly between four bowls
  8. Pour egg mixture over cookies, evenly
  9. Top with a dusting of cocoa powder
  10. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour
