Chicago (June 3, 2016) – Zapwater Communications had a very good evening at last night’s Publicity Club of Chicago’s 57th Annual Golden Trumpet Awards. The agency dominated the awards walking away with the prestigious Platinum Award (Best of Show), and five Gold Trumpets; more gold awards than any other agency. The Golden Trumpets honors the Midwest and Chicagoland’s most creative and successful public relations campaigns that educate, entertain, and inspire. Top placements included New York Times, Condé Nast Traveler, Entrepreneur, Fast Co. Design, CNN Money, Nightline News, Chicago Tribune, Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Travel + Leisure and many more.

From January to April 2015, Zapwater generated more than 440 million media impressions and the total calculated publicity value was more than $39 million dollars.

This award, as well as the Gold Trumpets we received, is a testament to the talented team at Zapwater and to the amazing clients we have been privileged to represent over the last decade.”

For the first time, Zapwater entered digital work in the Golden Trumpets awards competition, reaffirming the agency’s commitment to its growing social media practice. Both entries submitted won Gold.

“The fact that we won two Gold Trumpets for social media is also very rewarding,” continued Zapata. “More of our clients are looking for us to integrate social and digital solutions into campaigns or ways to digitally amplify our program. As a result, Zapwater continues to invest more resources into this aspect of our business. We’re obviously doing some things right.”

This is the second year in a row that Zapwater received one of the PCC’s “Big Five” Awards. Last year, Zapwater received The Jeffrey D. Bierig Brand Builder Award. In addition to last night’s awards, Zapwater has also received the following awards in 2016: three HSMAI Adrian Awards (two gold and a silver) and was shortlisted for a Gold SABRE Award.
