GRAYCOR (THE MOVE)

Zapwater client, Graycor Companies (Graycor) recently announced that the organization has executed a lease at Two Mid America Plaza in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., and broke ground in Northwest Indiana for a new facility there. The new Oakbrook Terrace location, will provide office space on two floors, while the Northwest Indiana location will offer 44,000 sq. feet of office and operations support on approximately 10 acres. Occupancy of both facilities is expected in the first half of 2011.

Designed by Chicago-based architectural firm Gensler, the Class A office build-out in Oakbrook Terrace, scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2010, will feature a state-of-the-art workspace, including updated technology and workstations, as well as numerous sustainable elements, such as a 3,000-sq.-ft. landscaped outdoor terrace.

The Oakbrook Terrace site provides opportunity for future expansion within the building to accommodate a growing workforce. The Northwest Indiana location has been narrowed down to two sites: one in Hobart, Ind., controlled by Becknell Development and one in Portage, Ind., controlled by Holladay Properties. A decision on the new Northwest Indiana location is expected soon.

Consistently ranked one of Chicago’s largest privately held companies, Graycor has evolved from its founding in 1921 as a maintenance and demolition contractor to a fully integrated provider of construction, maintenance and related services, working across the U.S. and internationally for a broad range of clients in various industries.

The Zapwater team was able to manage messaging and place the "move" story in countless publications including Crain’s Chicago Real Estate Daily, Southtown Star, The Doings – Oakbrook, and REJournals. The Northwest Indiana Office Move (made in conjunction with the Oakbrook release) was covered by the Northwest Indiana Times, All Business, Post-Tribune (multiple mentions), and PortageLife.com.
