CHICAGO (July 25, 2017) –  The Board of Tourism of La Paz (Fideicomiso de Turismo de La Paz) has retained Zapwater Communications as its United States public relations agency of record. La Paz, known as the City of Peace & Abundance on the Sea of Cortez, is located in and is the capital of Baja Sur California, Mexico.

The agency engagement is in partnership with PR Central Mexico City, Zapwater’s partner agency in the Travel Lifestyle Network, a global network of like-minded PR, marketing & communications agencies, serving clients in the fields of tourism and lifestyle.

La Paz is blessed with natural, recreational and cultural abundance. The coastal town is secluded on the east coast of Baja California Sur facing the Sea of Cortez. Jacques Cousteau deemed La Paz’s Sea of Cortez “The World’s Aquarium,” and it is considered one of the five largest marine ecosystems of highest productivity and biological diversity in the world.

La Paz is also known as “The City of 365 Sunsets.” Every evening, the sunset bestows a festival of natural lights and colors. The Malecón, a three mile boardwalk along the Bay of La Paz, is the heart of the city and is the ideal place for dining in one of its many restaurants or sampling the nightlife while admiring the surrounding natural beauty.

“Our membership with the Travel Lifestyle Network and ability to partner with agencies across the globe allow us to offer world-class services to our clients,” says David Zapata, president of Zapwater Communications. “La Paz is a beautiful city with a rich history. As an avid adventure traveler and sports fisherman, I am thrilled to begin working with both La Paz and PR Central.  I can’t wait to get out on the Sea of Cortez.”

The account will be managed jointly by Zapwater’s Los Angeles and Chicago offices.  Scope of work includes serving as the destination’s U.S. press office, media relations, organizing FAM trips, influencer relations and social media.
