SCHOOL FOR ANA

Like many new parents in Chicago, after the initial bliss of having my baby faded, I became overwhelmed with the daunting task of finding the right childcare and/or early education program. Teaching philosophy and curriculum were important to me as well as a warm, nurturing environment and competent faculty. After researching and visiting several locations, I came across a posting on Neighborhood Parents Network discussing The Goddard School under construction in Lincoln Park. Entrepreneur magazine had just recognized The Goddard School as the “#1 Preschool Franchise” for the tenth consecutive year so I figured they must be doing something right. After stopping in to meet the owner, Jason Pullukat, discuss the FLEX Learning Program and view the design plans, I knew I had found the right place. It was a long wait, but The Goddard School finally opened last week in a beautiful, brand new building on Armitage. From year-round extended daycare to early education and summer programs, this facility will care and develop your children from six weeks through six years of age. My little one is in the First Steps program and she loves it. Gina Carlton, the Educational Director, is outstanding and fully aware that the transition is more difficult for the parents than the children. To ease my nerves, she even jumped into Ana’s classroom to sneak a picture of her napping. Kudos to the teacher team who is able to get a toddler to nap on a cot!
